Share your story this Public Lands Day

Public lands are for everyone, and that includes you.
Your voice is part of this movement. Share yor favorite memory or place for Public Lands Day.

Dear Momoko,

Public lands are so much more than mere acres on a map: they are the places where we gather with loved ones, find solitude in nature and make lasting memories.

As summer comes to an end, many of us are reflecting on the moments outdoors that meant the most this year. And before we launch into Public Lands Day, we want to pause and hear from you.

What do public lands mean to you? Is it a trail where you hiked this summer, a beloved local park where you unwind or a landscape that always feels like home? Take a moment to share your favorite memory or place with us.

Public Lands Day is this Saturday, September 27. It's a day for communities all across the nation to celebrate the towering forests, rolling mountains, vast plains and other spectacular landscapes that make this country so special.

And this year it's more important than ever to recognize its significance, because together we're facing a turning point for conservation. Right now, more than 200 million acres of public lands are threatened by drilling, mining and harmful development. The stories we collect from supporters like you will shine a light on what we stand to lose—and why we must come together to defend the landscapes that connect us all.

Please take a moment today to reflect on your own connection to public lands and add your voice. Together, we can protect these places and make sure they remain accessible for generations to come.

P.S. When Public Lands Day arrives, we'll take this energy and put it into action. We're rallying support nationwide to raise $50,000 to protect our shared lands, and for a limited time, every gift will be matched by a generous donor to go 5X further. You can get a head start on helping us reach this goal by making an early matched gift now.
