[Impact Report] How you’re driving change in 2026 ✊

A mid-year update on where we’re going >>

Thanks to activists like you, our ongoing work to protect public lands is growing stronger every day.

Dear Momoko,

Just six months in, 2026 has already been one of the most consequential years for conservation. As the administration and its allies in Congress accelerate plans to privatize America's public lands, dismantle public lands protections and unleash drilling, mining and logging on our shared wild places, our members have come together like never before to mount a powerful defense of the lands we all love—and help The Wilderness Society fight back on every front.

From day one, the outpouring of response from supporters like you has been truly inspiring. So far this year…

42,547 people have raised their voices by signing a petition or pledge in support of conservation, including a letter telling oil companies to stay out of the Arctic Refuge.
131,259 supporters have contacted the administration and other elected leaders to demand they defend our public lands and the federal agencies, laws and policies that safeguard them.
Over 1,200 people have participated in rallies and other public lands events, showing their support for conserving our natural world.

We're ready to grow these numbers and get even louder this year—because there is too much at stake to sit on the sidelines. Together, we must uphold our freedom to explore the mountains, lakes and forests that make this country so unique. We must defend the treasured landscapes that provide us with clean air, water and essential wildlife habitat. And we must ensure these magnificent places endure—for our children and the generations that follow.

The future we envision starts with you, Momoko. And right now, you can do one more thing to contribute to the bold, beautiful tapestry of action that we are building together: send a message to the government that our public lands are not for sale, and that we'll keep fighting to defend them, no matter what.

Thank you for standing with us in support of our nation's irreplaceable public lands and waters.

With gratitude,

P.S. The Wilderness Society's hard-hitting legal, advocacy and scientific work is critical to defending our shared public lands from this administration's reckless, pro-fossil fuel agenda—but we need your help to keep the fight going. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to power our work during this pivotal moment for the future of conservation and public lands.
