The administration is considering at least a dozen proposals to build data centers on public lands across the West without public involvement.
This is unacceptable: Our beloved public lands must not be sacrificed to feed unregulated, environmentally harmful data center development. We need the government to act and pump the brakes.
The potential impacts of data centers include nature loss, energy consumption, water resource strain and pollution. Moving the frenzied race of data center construction—and these threats—to public lands under the cover of darkness is unacceptable. These are vital places that provide clean air and water, conserve vanishing wildlife habitat and offer freedom for all to connect with nature.
If public lands are swallowed by data centers, they will never be the same. In place of stunning vistas and wildlife habitat, they will be marred with massive industrial facilities guzzling energy and water. Current and future generations should not lose so corporations can gain!
Thank you for your advocacy and support.
Sincerely,
