Dear Momoko,
We have something important we'd love your feedback on.
We've just launched a new report highlighting 10 iconic American landscapes at risk from this administration's short-sighted energy agenda. In this month's Insight Panel, we're asking for your reactions.
Your feedback will help us understand which places most powerfully connect supporters to the urgency of protecting public lands and how we can better galvanize action and find common ground as we work to protect our national heritage. Thank you in advance!

WHAT YOU SHARED LAST MONTH
Last month, you helped us better understand how connected you feel to The Wilderness Society—and whether you would recommend engaging with our work to others.
Your comments gave helpful insights about what builds trust, what inspires advocacy and what might encourage you to spread the word about us to your networks.
These quotes from Insight Panelists provide a snapshot of the themes we heard:
"I support The Wilderness Society because it is one of the most effective, science-driven voices protecting America's public lands for future generations. Their work safeguards the wild places that define our national identity while ensuring that communities who depend on these landscapes have a say in how they're managed."
"My friends and I have enjoyed backpacking and canoeing in national forest wilderness areas for many years. Your focus on the protection of these areas is unique among environmental organizations."
"With the federal land management system wavering, it's a no brainer to support TWS and let the citizens have their voices heard!"
We also asked you to share a book or movie that has connected you more deeply to wild places—and you delivered a wonderful range of recommendations.
From beloved classics to newer discoveries, many of you pointed to stories that deepened your appreciation for landscapes, wildlife and the importance of conservation.
Highlights include:
- "Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer
- "Desert Solitaire" by Edward Abbey
- "The Hidden Life of Trees" by Peter Wohlleben
- Nature and wildlife documentaries, including films by Ken Burns and The PBS Nature series
As always, we read every Insight Panel response. If you haven't yet, please take this month's quick survey.
Thank you for being part of the Insight Panel. The insights you share help strengthen our work to protect America's lands and waters. We're deeply grateful.
If you'd like to stop receiving Insight Panel emails, you can opt out here.
