Three days after the oil and gas industry requested weaker safeguards in the Western Arctic, the administration proposed doing just that.
A proposal by the Bureau of Land Management would mean no more environmental reviews and no more public input, making it easier for drilling projects to move forward in this land that caribou, migratory birds, polar bears and Indigenous communities have depended on for generations.
Take action: Tell the BLM to reject this outlandish proposal.
If the oil industry succeeds, this could potentially be the last environmental review in the Western Arctic ever!
What’s more, this move threatens our freedoms to speak up for how our shared public lands are managed and relieves the industry of accountability for oil spills or other environmental damage.
We must not succumb to the wishes of the oil and gas industry.
TAKE ACTION NOW: Tell the administration to reject this proposal and protect the Western Arctic for generations to come!
Sincerely,
