Last year, Congress nearly sold off millions of acres of America’s wild public lands by burying the proposal inside a massive budget bill. Lands that belong to all of us almost disappeared through a procedural back door.
Public outcry stopped it, but Congress can still sneak land sell-offs into budget bills where they receive little to no scrutiny.
The Public Lands Integrity Act would close that loophole and ensure proposals to sell, transfer or dispose of public lands do not enter the budget reconciliation process. Future sell-off attempts would need real debate.

Public lands are where we exercise our freedom to hike, camp, hunt, fish and explore. They protect clean water, wildlife habitat, cultural resources and outdoor traditions across the country.
These shared lands should be handed down to our kids and grandkids, not handed over to industry through a procedural back door.
